About 12th PSILPH

The 12th PSILPH Symposium is scheduled to take place from October 27 to 31, 2026, at the Nagaragawa Convention Center in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The symposium will explore interdisciplinary approaches to ensuring sustainable food production in acidic soils, which are the most significant environmental stressor in global agriculture. Soil scientists, plant scientists, and agronomists specializing in acid soil problems will convene to discuss recent progress in acid soil-related research and explore potential future directions for the sustainable management of agriculture in low pH soils.

WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear All

I am honored to host the 12th International Symposium on Plant-Soil Interactions at Low pH (PSILPH) in Gifu City, Japan. Gifu City is located in central Japan, an area rich in culture and natural beauty. Since the first PSILPH in Edmonton, Canada, in 1987, the symposium has been held in various locations, including the USA (1990), Australia (1993), Brazil (1996), South Africa (2001), Japan (2004), China (2009), India (2012), Croatia (2015), Malaysia (2018), and China (2023). As you may know, the PSILPH symposium provides opportunities to share ideas with participants from various scientific backgrounds, such as soil science, plant science, and agronomy. These participants focus on solving agricultural and forestry problems in regions with acidic soil. I would like to invite all of you to enjoy the beautiful tradition of PSILPH in the beautiful city of Gifu. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Sincerely yours
